ACTIVITIES OF ACI

ACI have been organising various aero sports events in the past.  Its members/Associate Members have also organised such events/competitions under the auspices of ACI.  Some of the major activities in which ACI was involved in the recent past are:

a) Assisting KLM during its commemorating Golden Jubilee flight through India in 1983.

b) Hosting of FAI General Conference  in 1985 at New Delhi in which more than 80 countries participated;

c) Loan of two Cessna 152 Aerobat Trainer Aircraft to IGRUA for commencing training flying in September 1986.

d) Hosting International Parachuting Commission (IPC) meeting of FAI at Agra in 1994.

e) Participation in FAI General Conference;

f) Participation in the FAI Technical Commission Meetings;

g) Sponsoring teams to participate in Regional and World Championships in Skydiving, Hang-gliding, Ballooning, Microlight flying etc. organised by the National Aero Clubs of different countries affiliated to FAI;

h) Issuing of FAI Sporting Licences and Certificates in conformity with the rules and regulations of FAI;

i) Providing support and facilities to the “Around the World Air Race” conducted under the auspices of FAI/ICAO; 

j) Provided support in conduct of three National Skydiving Championships;

k) Holding India International Hot Air Balloon Melas organised by Ballooning Club of India every year under the auspices of ACI;

l) Holding Aeromodelling rallies throughout  the country;

m) Assistance to Government agencies in framing rules and regulations for licensing in Microlight flying.

n) Air Show 2000 at Safdarjung Airport in November 2000.

o) Aerosports Development Plan under 10th Five Year Plan 2002-07

p) Provided support in conduct of Paragliding Pre World Cup event in Himachal Pradesh in the year 2003 and 2004

q) Holding FAI Young Artists Contest every year at a national level

r) Holding Aerosports events from time to time

s) Rolling and runner-up trophies for the best performing flying clubs of the country.
