"AEROSPORTS 2000"

         Aero Club Of India have been organising various Aerosports events in the past to promote Aero Adventure sports in the country with the main aim to motivate the youth to participate in the Aerosports.

         ACI made a big leap in the new millenium by organising "Aerosports 2000" at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi on 12^th November, 2000 between 1400 to 1700 hrs. Indian Air Force, Army and Naval Adventure cells and some of the Associate members of ACI participated in the event. 

         The following aerosports activities were displayed:

1. Skydiving
2. Para Motoring
3. Microlight Flying
4. Ballooning
5. Aeromodelling
6. Parasailing
7. Paragliding and Hang Gliding with Winch.
8. Powered Hang Gliding
9. Joy Rides in Aerosports Equipment like Powered Aircraft, Gliders, etc.

"Aerosports 2000" was inaugurated by Shri Sharad Yadav, Honourable Minister Of Civil Aviation.

This was the first ever Air Show and the most spectacular aerosports event of the Millennium organised by ACI in the country, in the form of Static display of the aerosports equipments and their meticulous display by the competent participants from Air Force Adventure Cell, Army Adventure Wing, Naval Adventure Traning, Delhi Gliding Club, Alpha Aviation, New Delhi, Agni Aerosports Adventure Academy, Bangalore and Modeller's Education Society , New Delhi. More than hundred individuals actively participated in nine different disciplines of aviation, displaying their skilll to make the Air Show a safe and grand success.

The aim of the Air Show was to display different aersports , generate general awareness and to motivate the youth into the field of aviation and aerosports.

Thousands of aerosports enthusiasts and a very large number of school and college students were thrilled to witness the event. The distinguished dignatories from the civil and the services were our guests.

"Aerosports 2000" was given a wide coverage in the Print media as well as on the Electronic media.
