Simulator Procurement

Aero Club of India felt that the requirement of Simulators to be distributed to member flying clubs/training institutes for the training purpose is a critical component of the overall training programme and some of the critical exercises including malfunctions (aircraft emergencies can only be safely carried out on Simulators without any risk to the trainee/pilot or aircraft). The cost of training per hour on Simulators vis-a-vis on actual aircraft is less than one fourth which will lead to reducing the cost of training without compromising on the safety standards. The Simulators procured can offset flying hours to the extent of 40 hours towards Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) ratings/Instrument Rating, out of 200 hours of flying training requirement. This is being followed by FAA and JAR (European countries currently). It is also to be appreciated that the utilisation of Simulators is not affected by the weather conditions or Airport Traffic/congestion. In brief, the Simulators will enhance the training standards and at the same time reduce the cost of training without compromising safety.

Aero Club of India procured 02 Single Engine Simulators (Flight Training Device) and 01 Multi Engine Simulator (Flight Training Device).

Single Engine Simulator conforms to JAR STD 3A FNPT Type II and is a replica of Cessna 172R with Garmin 1000 Avionics package.

Multi Engine Simulator conforms to FAA Level 5 (AC120-45A) and is replica of Baron G58 with Garmin 1000 Avionics package.

01 Single Engine and one Multi Engine Simulator have been allotted to Delhi Flying Club, New Delhi. 01 Single Engine Simulator has been allotted to Patiala Aviation Club, Punjab.
